Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery is a procedure where the clouded lens of the eye is removed and replaced with an artificial lens, known as an intraocular lens (IOL), to restore clear vision. It is a relatively quick and common day surgery performed under local anaesthesia, resulting in improved vision and enhanced quality of life for the patient.

Intravitreal Injections
Intravitreal injections are a medical procedure where medication is injected directly into the vitreous humour, the gel-like substance in the eye. This method allows for targeted delivery of drugs to treat various eye conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion.

Oculoplastics
Oculoplastics is a specialised field of ophthalmology that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions affecting the eyelids, orbit (eye socket) and tear ducts. It involves both surgical and non-surgical techniques to address functional and aesthetic concerns, such as eyelid malpositions, tumours, tear duct obstructions, droopy eyelids and excess eyelid skin.

Diabetic Retinopathy
Diabetic retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that affects the blood vessels in the retina, leading to damage and potentially causing vision loss. It is characterised by symptoms such as blurred or distorted vision, floaters, and difficulty seeing in low light, and early detection and treatment are crucial in preventing or managing its progression.

Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is a chronic eye disease that affects the macula, the central part of the retina responsible for sharp, central vision. It causes progressive deterioration of the macula, leading to blurred or distorted vision, difficulty recognizing faces or reading, and in advanced stages, a loss of central vision.

Pterygium Surgery
Pterygium surgery is a procedure performed to remove a pterygium, a growth of fleshy tissue on the white part of the eye that can extend onto the cornea. The surgery involves removing the abnormal tissue and grafting a healthy piece of conjunctival tissue onto the affected area to prevent recurrence and restore the normal appearance and function of the eye.
